At Student Empowerment Team Kenya (SET KENYA), empowerment is not an event—it is a continuous, transformational journey. Born out of a vision to raise purpose-driven leaders across tertiary institutions, high schools, and local communities, SET Kenya bridges the gap between raw student potential and sustainable achievement.
We operate as a dynamic student organization and community-based movement. By deploying energetic university mentors, running high school empowerment missions, organizing sanitary pad drives, and hosting career development forums, we walk side-by-side with young people until they unlock their true potential.

High School Mentorship Missions
High school is a critical transition stage filled with peer pressure, academic performance stress, and career uncertainty. SET Kenya organizes high school missions where university students and young professionals mentor teenagers through authentic peer-to-peer engagement.
- Academic Excellence: Goal setting, effective time management, and exam preparation strategies.
- Personal Development: Building self-esteem, self-awareness, and emotional resilience.

Pad Drives & SRHR Advocacy
Pad A Girl Child Initiative
Period poverty keeps thousands of schoolgirls out of the classroom every month across Kenya and Africa. Through our Pad A Girl Child Initiative, SET Kenya combines sanitary pad distribution with comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights education.
- Dignity Kits: Distributing sanitary pads, soaps, and hygiene essentials to vulnerable schoolgirls.
- SRHR Guidance: Age-appropriate conversations on puberty, personal hygiene, consent, and bodily autonomy.
- Safe Spaces: Eliminating period stigma and encouraging open discussions between mentors and students.
Career Guidance & Academic Mentorship
We help students navigate the transition from secondary school to tertiary education and the modern job market.
- Career Exploration: Introducing high school learners to 21st-century careers, TVET pathways, STEM fields, and digital opportunities.
- Skill Alignment: Matching personal talents with university degrees, diploma courses, and market demands.
- Transition Support: Equipping outgoing Form Fours with soft skills, interview preparation, and a leadership mindset before joining campus.
Leadership & Community Service
We believe that leadership is developed through service. SET Kenya engages youth in community outreach projects, environmental conservation, and social intervention campaigns across various counties in Kenya—from Kiambu and Nairobi to Western Kenya and beyond.
